Services for Mr. Jack Herman Dyess, 87, of Ben Wheeler, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Main Street Baptist Church, with Bro. David Crain officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Dyess passed away September 13, 2023, at his home. He was born November 2, 1935, in Grand Saline, to Herman Goddard & Vitae Lois Rucker Dyess. Jack graduated from Sabine High School, Class of 1953, attended Rice University on a football scholarship, and served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Dyess retired from Eastman Kodak Company, as a chemical operator, after 23 years of service. He had lived in Ben Wheeler the last 20 years and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, in Grand Saline. Mr. Dyess was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Brian Taylor.
Survivors include his two sons, David & Buffy Dyess of White Oak, and Bobby & Kayla Dyess of Huntsville; daughter, Diane Taylor of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren, David Dyess, Jr., Lindsay Dyess, Taryn Lorance and husband Gary, Carly Dyess, Bevyn Taylor, Shane Taylor and wife Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren, Tyson Lorance, Waylon Lorance, and Derek Dyess; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ron Boyett, Eugene Parker, Ronny Fisher, Jim Ross, Doug Thomason, and Lynn Melton.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the church.
