Doris Elliott

Services for Doris Ann Elliott, 81, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Bartley Funeral Home with Dean Elliott officiating.
Interment will follow in Creagleville Cemetery.
Mrs. Elliott passed away November 3, 2019, in a Tyler hospital. She was born January 21, 1938, in Grand Saline, to Richard & Izora Elizabeth Joyner Gipson. She lived most of her life in Grand Saline where she was a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church and their Young at Heart Sunday School Class. She taught school in Odessa, Grand Saline and Wills Point for a combined 14 years. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Waylon Gipson and Wayne Gipson; and two sisters, Patricia Staggs and Donna Alexander.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William "Bill" Elliott of Grand Saline; two sons, Dean Elliott and wife Wendy of Cleburne and Paul Elliott and wife Libby of Grand Saline; daughter, Shannon McCown and husband Mike of Grand Saline; sister-in-law, Peggy Gipson of Grand Saline; brother-in-law, Carter Elliott and wife Carolyn of Grand Saline; seven grandchildren, Charissa Bertrand and husband Travis, Cason McCown, Branson McCown, Sam Elliott, Emma Elliott, Sarah Elliott and Campbell McCown; one great-grandchild on the way; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Danny LaPrade, Don Edwards, Jimmy Pettiet, Jamie Wood, Eric Autry and William Neal.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wayne LaPrade and Young at Heart Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to the AWANAS program at Sand Flat Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
