Graveside services for Mr. Frank Dale Ellis, 86, of Springdale, AR, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022, at Long Creek Cemetery, Sunnyvale, TX, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Ellis passed away April 30, 2022, in Arkansas. He was born May 20, 1935, in Dallas, to Amos Dale & Bertha Mae Bell Ellis. Frank spent his early years in Fruitvale, then moved to Dallas at 14 years of age. He joined the US Marines at 17 years old, was stationed in San Diego, CA, and served in the Korean War. Later, Frank became a bus driver in Long Beach, CA. He then moved back to Dallas where he drove for Continental Trailways Bus Lines and also co-owned the Hi-Ho Ballroom in Grand Prairie for several years. He spent the next 30 years in Houston as a car dealer. After retirement, Mr. Ellis moved back to Dallas and drove for Central Texas Trailways until 2012. Frank was a 3-time cancer survivor. He spent the last three months of his life in Springdale, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Madelyn Jones, and Mary Lou Cotton.
Survivors include his three sons, Joe Ellis and wife Kimberly of Leander, Richard Ellis and wife Remeline of Springdale, AR, and Kevin Dale Ellis of Austin; daughter, Angela Lee Ellis of Ft. Gibson, OK; six sisters including Hazel Bumgardner and Carol Foster, both of Fruitvale; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Ellis, Joe Ellis, Kevin Dale Ellis, and Allyn Bisgard.
