Lois English

Services for Lois English, 92, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Alba, with Algia Allen officiating.

Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.

Mrs. English passed away September 13, 2024, at her home in Alba. She was born April 6, 1932, in Cloudy, Oklahoma, to Claude & Clara Harper Goheen. Lois was a member of Alba Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.D. English; daughter, Lana English-McAree; brothers, Bud Goheen, and Louis Goheen; and sisters, Faye Thurman, Mildred Goheen, Dora Self, and Lucille Butler.

Survivors include her son, Jay Haggerty of Alba; four granddaughters, Bailey Thompson and husband Jase of Sulphur Springs, Layci Haggerty and David Tredway of Quitman, Latona English of Alba, and Tasha Ringgold and husband Joe of Alba; five great-grandchildren, Jaxon Ringgold of Alba, Adyson Ringgold of Alba, Jesse Sneed of Quitman, Cove English of Alba, and Conlei Jacobs of Alba; nieces & nephews, Toni Butler of Alba, Cliff Self and wife Donna of Alba; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mike Ragsdale, Randall Ator, Mason Ragsdale, Jeremy Ragsdale, Jesse Haggerty, David Potts, Mike Gerrero, and Brandon Hass.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxon Ringgold, Jesse Sneed, and Jase Thompson.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
