Billy Fansler

September 26, 1931 — December 8, 2020

Mr. Billy Jack “B.J.” Fansler, 89, of Grand Saline, passed away December 8, 2020, in Grand Saline. He was born September 26, 1931, in Whitewright, to Earl William and Marlee Ricter Fansler. B.J. lived most of his life in Grand Saline. He worked for E-Systems in Greenville for twenty years and was a member of the Grand Saline Masonic Lodge #1269. B.J. served four years in the United States Marine Corp, receiving a Bronze Star during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Nell New Fansler.
Survivors include his son, Del Fansler and wife Kathryn of Flint; two daughters, Donna Newburn and husband Dennis of Lindale and Connie Harrell and husband Jesse of Grand Saline; sister, Jean New of Grand Saline; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Adkins, Dr. David Monty, Jerry Crane, and Joe Watkins.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
The family will receive friends, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020, at the funeral home.
