Fannie Beth Swint Fisher, 80, joined her Lord and Savior on April 11th, 2015, from her home in Grand Saline, Texas after a short battle with cancer. She has been a resident of Grand Saline and a member of Main Street Baptist Church for 44 years. She was born in Omaha, Texas on December 4th, 1934. Her parents, William Ennis and Fannie Snipes Swint encouraged young Fannie Beth in her love of animals. She purchased her first horse, Fleeta, at 12 and owned and loved horses throughout her life. She was a 1953 graduate of Paul Pewitt High School of Omaha and maintained a close relationship with all her classmates. She went on to attend Baylor University for 2 years and after becoming a wife and mother she completed her education at East Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After college, she worked as a Social Worker in Hildalgo County Texas. She worked at Heddin’s Chevrolet while getting her teaching degree. Beth began her teaching career at Alba Golden and completed her 25 years as a teacher at Grand Saline ISD. At the end of her career, she taught kindergarten and enjoyed watching the “light bulbs” come on as her students began reading. Near and after retirement, Beth built, from scratch, Little Fannie’s Country Retreat. She put her heart and soul in providing a down home country atmosphere for her guest which gained many repeat and loyal customers. Never too busy for fun, she was an active participant in her Church Rejoicer’s Class, Fun After Fifty Five, Mineola Bridge Club, Mah-Jongg group and cofounder of IFF (In For Fun) group. In 1956, she married Jerry Neal Cash, who preceded her in death. Beth married Pat Fisher in 1975. She is survived by 3 sons: Neal & Lisa Cash of Woodstock, Ga.; John & Rhonda Truett of Grand Saline and Roy Chelette of Grand Saline. 2 daughters: Cindy & Wesley Bickerdike of Diana, Texas; Stephanie & Tommy Potter of Gurdon, Arkansas. She had the joy of 16 Grandchildren, Brent Bickerdike, Mandee Lancaster, Bryan Bickerdike who preceded her in death, Russell Cash, Kelly Cash Vanbeek, Joshua Cash, Danica Humphrey, Amber Marshall, Cole Carpenter, Skye Delgado, Rex Potter, Payton Potter, Kirsteena Truett, Austen Truett, Judsen Truett, Carsen Truett and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
