EMORY – Services for LaNelle Freeman, 83, of Emory, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015, at the Emory Church of Christ, with David Baker officiating.
Burial will be in Emory City Cemetery under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Ms. Freeman passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, in a Sulphur Springs nursing facility.
She was born Thursday, May 3, 1931, in Fort Worth, to the late Marshall and Blanche Harris Moody. She traveled for many years as a missionary with the Church of Christ and had lived in Emory since 1982. She had worked as a secretary at the Justice of the Peace office in Rains County and was a member of Emory Church of Christ.
Survivors include her brother David White of Trophy Club; grandchildren Amanda Pierson and Renee’ Mixon both of Houston; great-grandchildren, Charlie Pierson, Brooklyn Pierson, and David Rydman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Cecil Freeman and Chester Rivers; daughter, Cynthia Mercer; and son, Dene Freeman.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
