Services for Mr. Alvin “Whistle” Fritz, 85 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Sand Flat Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
Mr. Fritz passed away December 16, 2012 in Grand Saline. He was born February 24, 1927 in the Friendship Community to William Oliver & Ida Elizabeth Williams Fritz. He married Emmer Payne on January 11, 1947. Mr. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alvin Ray Fritz; granddaughters, Georgia Kay Thompson and Jennifer Lynn Thompson Wise; five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Emmer Fritz; daughter and son-in-law, Mary & Clyde Thompson; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jana & Louis Criswell; grandson-in-law, Jim Wise; 6 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Jim Wise, Louis Criswell, Louis Ray Criswell, Curtis Wise, Katie Criswell, Todd Criswell, Dylan Criswell, James Wise and David Criswell.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
