Services for Mildred Rucker Godwin, 97 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Sand Flat Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Morris and Sid Shuemake officiating.
Interment will be in Sand Flat Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Godwin passed away November 27, 2011 in Grand Saline. She was born July 7, 1914 in Grand Saline to William Perry & Eugenia Shirley Rucker. She spent her early years in Grand Saline, 50 years in Dallas and then the last 28 years back in Grand Saline. She was a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star, TEEA Salt City Club and Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olan Wilson Godwin; infant son; son, Gene Godwin; six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her son, Dwayne Godwin and wife Patricia of Dallas; grandchildren, Olan Dwayne “Lucky” Godwin, Jr. and wife Kristine of Dallas and Cynthia Ann Cremeens and husband Robert of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Kathy Godwin, Elisabeth Cremeens, Andrew Cremeens and Wilson Godwin; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Cremeens, Mike Rogers, Henry Maxfield, Mark Maxfield, Lucky Godwin and Robert Cremeens.
Memorials may be made to Sand Flat Cemetery Association, c/o Janie Maxfield, 4764 FM 857, Grand Saline, TX 75140.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
