GOLDEN – Services for Agustin Gonzalez, 85, of Golden, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, at St. John Catholic Church, Emory, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Father Victor Hernandez officiating.
Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Cemetery, Golden.
Mr. Gonzalez passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born May 2, 1929, in Mexico City, Guanajuato, Mexico, to the late Juan and Zaleta Jimenez Gonzalez. He married Eva Garcia, and they had been married 34 years at her death in 2005. He was a machine operator in the die and stamping industry. He moved here from Chicago Illinois, 18 years ago, and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Mineola.
Survivors include sons, Ignacio Gonzalez of Mexico City, Carlos Gonzalez of Alba, Humberto Gonzalez of Chicago, Illinois, Agustin Gonzalez of Golden, and Jerry Gonzalez of Chicago; daughters, Agustina Gonzalez of Mineola, Alicia Gonzalez of Golden, Maria Gonzalez of Mineola, and Olivia Gonzalez of Golden; brother, Juan Gonzalez of Golden; sister, Cuca Gonzalez of San Antonio; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Benito Gonzalez; brother, Francisco Gonzalez; and grandson, Jesse Gonzalez.
Pallbearers will be Allan Gonzalez, Victor Peñaflor, Ricardo Gonzalez, Humberto Gonzalez, Jerry Luna, and Ivan Gonzalez
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a Rosary at 6 p.m.
