MINEOLA – Services for Juan Gonzalez, 81, of Mineola, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at St. John Catholic Church, Emory, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Father Victor Hernandez officiating.
Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Cemetery, Golden.
Mr. Gonzalez passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, in a Quitman hospital.
He was born April 2, 1934, in Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Juan Gonzalez and Saleta Jimenez. He married Maria de Jesus Tinajero. He worked in farming.
Survivors include his wife Maria de Jesus Tinajero of Mineola; Fransisco Gonzalez of Alba, Jose Guadalupe Gonzalez of Mineola, Joaquin Gonzalez of Mexico City, Mexico, Jose Belem Gonzalez of Alba, Ramon Gonzalez of Houston, Manuel Gonzalez and Antonio Gonzalez both of Mineola; daughter, Elia Candida Gonzalez of Alba; sisters, Maria Tinajero of San Antonio and Engracia Gonzalez of Mexico City, Mexico; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
Pallbearers are Fransisco Gonzalez, Gerardo Torrez, Jose Armando Gonzalez, Manuel Gonzalez, Alejandro Gonzalez, Adan Gonzalez; David Acevedo, Juan Torres, and Edgar Gonzalez.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening 4-8 at the funeral home.
