Services for James Earl (Jim) Goodson, 77, of Mineola are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Roundflat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale.
Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Mineola.
Mr. Goodson passed away April 28, 2015 in Tyler. He was born May 9, 1937 in Big Sandy to Eugene and Allie Sanders Goodson. He was a member of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. Jim married Alice Barker in Dallas on December 11, 1959. He lived for many years in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Mineola in 1979. He was a truck driver for Mineola Packing and a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church. Mr. Goodson was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Deb Goodson; mother, Allie Sanders Manes; step father, James Manes; two sisters, Helen Hamill and Betty Jean Haines; brother, Charles Edward Goodson; grandson, Stephen Burge; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Goodson of Mineola; two sons, Jim Goodson and wife Leigh Ann of Tyler and James Earl Goodson, Jr. and wife Nikki of Irving; two daughters, Debbie Morgan and husband Homer of Fruitvale and Janie Burge and husband Chuck of White Oak;
sister, Elizabeth Browder of Palmer; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
There will be a luncheon/visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Roundflat Pentecostal Church before the service. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
