Graveside services for Maxine Gray, 89, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2017, at Sand Flat Cemetery with Bro. Dennis Morris officiating.
Mrs. Gray passed away January 20, 2017, in Grand Saline. She was born December 23, 1927, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, to Fred & Naomi Bassford Wellen. She spent most of her life in Cedar Creek Lake before moving to Grand Saline 15 years ago. She was a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church. She volunteered at Azalea Trails Nursing Home where she enjoyed calling BINGO and visiting with the residents. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 20 years, Walter Gray; and four brothers, Fred Wellen Jr., Melvin Wellen, Don Wellen and Bob Wellen.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Neal and husband William of Grand Saline, Karon Pierson and husband Kenny of Euless and Linda Heck of Frisco; brother, Bill Colwell and wife Mary Jane of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, Darrell Neal and wife Kim of Grand Saline, Doug Ligon of Keller, Tascha Reese and husband Doug of Canton and Amanda Heck of Amarillo; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Norma Wellen of Centerville, Iowa; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be William Neal, Kenny Pierson, Darrell Neal, Doug Ligon, Doug Reese, Blake Reese, Shayne Neal, Cody Neal, Bradley Reese, Dillon Ligon, Taylor Cravens and Logan Cravens.
Memorials may be made to the Activity Fund at Azalea Trails Nursing Home.
The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
