MINEOLA – Memorial services for Morris Sheppard Green, Jr., 81, of Mineola, will be held Friday, April 19, 2013, at 3 P.M. at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Bro. Louis Strehlow officiating.
Burial of cremains will be in Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Cemetery, Golden, at a later date.
Mr. Green passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, in a Tyler hospice facility.
He was born November 23, 1931, in Cumby, to Morris Sheppard Sr. and Alma (Bobbye) Anderson Green. He married Dorothy Sue Grogan, on July 2, 1955, in Dallas, where he lived before moving to Mineola in 1976. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a Non Destructive Evaluation Inspector. He specialized in magnetic particle and ultra sonic metallurgy testing for integrity and strength of metal. He had his own business, Central Inspection Service, for 34 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Green of Mineola; sons, Michael Green and wife Vicki of Garland, and Philip Green of Mineola; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Green, Sr., and mother, Bobbye Garrett; and son Morris Green III.
