Services for Gregory Russell Guest, 29, of Alba, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Greg passed away October 2, 2026. He was born June 7, 1997, in Mt. Pleasant. He grew up in Alba and was a graduate of Alba-Golden High School. Greg was the kind of person who made an impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcome. He loved life, loved helping others, and most of all, loved his family.

Greg enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found hunting or fishing—two things that brought him great joy. But nothing compared to the love he had for his two boys, Sawyer and Scout. Being their dad was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he treasured every moment with them.

Greg will be remembered for his big heart, his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the kindness he showed to others. He leaves behind countless memories with the people who loved him, and his absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Greg was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy “Pop” Guest; and great-grandparents, “Poppy Do” and “Nana P”.

Survivors include his parents, Stevi and John Houtz of Alba and Jim Bob Guest of Detroit; two sons, Sawyer Wayne Guest and Scout Russell Guest, both of Alba; grandparents, Donna White, Jean Hickman, Steve Gilmore, Annette Houtz and Jeanie Guest; two brothers, John David Houtz, Jr. and wife Lindsey of Lewisburg, PA, and Chase Houtz of Mineola; four sisters, Madison Nicole Smith and husband Landon of Alba, Kara Houtz of Milton, PA, Emily Houtz of Mineola, and Annie Guest of Elk City, OK; special aunts and uncles, Taylor Hickman of Golden and Mark and Danielle Houtz of Trevorton, PA; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
