Virginia Grier

Services for Virginia Grier, 85, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Duckworth and Jerry Presswood officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery.
Mrs. Grier passed away September 27, 2018, in Grand Saline. She was born January 21, 1933 in Canton to Leroy & Vada Stewart Humphrey. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline where she graduated from GSHS, Class of 1949. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and their Rejoicer's Sunday School Class and Fun After Fifty-Five. Virginia was a bank teller for over 30 years at First National Bank of Grand Saline. She served as Director of Fruitvale Housing Authority for several years, and was a member of Grand Saline Study Club and Pokeno Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Robert Lee Grier.; two sisters, Genelle Crocker and Peggy Meador.
Survivors include her son, Robert W. "Butch" Grier and wife Lauren of Grand Saline; brother-in-law, Bill Crocker of Grand Saline; sister, Janey Waddill and husband Carrol of Grand Saline; two grandchildren, Robert Joseph Grier and wife Katelyn of Tyler and Jordan Lee Grier and wife Sydney of Taylor; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bob Stringer, Eddy Smith, Joseph Grier, Jordan Grier, Tim Crocker, Danny Crocker and Ricky Lynn Grier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Smith, Carrol Waddill and Bill Crocker.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
