Graveside services for Billie Gilliam Halcomb, 81, of Fruitvale, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Creagleville Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Halcomb passed away July 7, 2015 in Grand Saline. She was born October 24, 1933 in Grand Saline to John Wesley and Vera Lee Savage Gipson. Most of her life was spent in Van Zandt County, where she worked locally for over 40 years as an LVN. Billie was a member of the Cross Roads Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Troy Gilliam and W. A. Halcomb; one grandson, Jessie Teague; three sisters, Mattie Williams, Peggy Shivers, and Sue Meiners; and one brother, John Wesley Gipson, Jr.
Survivors include one son, Troy Gilliam and wife JoAnn of Fruitvale; one daughter, Amy Teague and husband Andy of Fruitvale; one brother, Jack Gipson of Grand Saline; one sister, Nancy Etheridge and husband Tony of Canton; two grandchildren, Chase Gilliam and wife Amber and Shelbie Teague; two step-grandchildren, B.J. Rodgers and Cody Rogers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Memorials can be made to any charity of choice.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
