Services for Howard Houston Harley, 82, of Grand Saline are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.
Interment will be in Sand Flat Cemetery.
Mr. Harley was born February 22, 1932, in Grand Saline to William Acie and Bessie Mae Zetty Harley. He spent most of his life in Van Zandt County and worked for many years at Matex in Terrell as a machine operator. Howard served in the United States Army and was a member of Riverside Mission Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, James Harley, Raymond Harley, Tommy Harley, and Ed Harley; and two sisters, Berniece Tolleson and Virgie McKinney.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Wayne Harley of Tennessee; two daughters, Trena Brand and husband James of Fruitvale and Lisa Harley of Van; two sisters, Jewel Herring of Grand Saline and Margie Stevens and husband Gene of Crandall; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous other friends and relatives.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Red (Papa) Moore, Josh Glidewell, Max Watkins, Ronnie (Lurch) Wheeler, Philip Langston, Jerry Dale Wheeler, Tim Culpepper, Paul Wheeler and Jimmy Hollis.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
