Services for A.W. Harris, 77 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. James Massey officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Harris passed away June 6, 2012 in Grand Saline. He was born February 28, 1935 in Grand Saline to John F. & Verta Starkey Harris. He retired as a mechanic supervisor from Texas Instruments. He worked for Hawkins Nursery and J. Berry Nursery after retirement. Mr. Harris spent all of his life in Grand Saline where he served as a deacon for Bible Baptist Church. He was a hard working man and a committed full-time grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Ronnie William Harris and Ricky Don Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Harris of Grand Saline; son, Mark Harris of Grand Saline; brother, Junior Harris of Grand Saline; five grandchildren, Joseph Hogue, Brandi Harris, Fred Heuber, Derek Harris and William Harris; and eight great-grandchildren, Kallye Campbell, Dustin Heuber, Destiny Heuber, Danille Heuber, Chasity Heuber, Joslyn Harris, Madison Hogue and Jake Carter Harris.
Pallbearers will be Mike Rogers, Randy Rogers, Dennis Barker, Jim Berry, James King and Kevin Barton.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
