James Hatcher

James Robert Hatcher, 91, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, in Tyler. He was born October 12, 1931, in Ft. Worth.
James was a member of New Horizons Assembly of God in Grand Saline and has lived in Canton for the last 10 years. He was previously of Nowata, Oklahoma and Gallup and Grants, New Mexico, and Ft. Worth, TX. James served his country in the United States Air Force and worked throughout his life in the mining and trucking industries. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America and in his spare time enjoyed mechanicing, welding, and “inventing”.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Aikin Connor and Ruby Olive (Thompson) Hatcher and son, Darrell James Hatcher.
He is survived by wife, Edna Hatcher of Canton; son, Tim Hatcher and wife, Lynley of Canton; brother, Murrell C. Hatcher of Oakridge North; sister, Buela Kay Sirco of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brianna Elizabeth Hatcher and Cameron Hatcher; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
