Joan Hazel

Services for Joan Gale Laughery Hazel, 67, of Fruitvale, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.
Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery.
Joan passed away November 15, 2019 at her residence in Fruitvale. She was born December 27, 1951 in Canton, Ohio to James Leroy and Wanda Dale Clift Laughery, Jr. Joan grew up in Rockwall and was a member of the Rockwall High School class of 1970. On October 16, 1986, she married Jimmy Hazel in Fruitvale. Joan is preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jim Hazel of Fruitvale; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Osa Dee Hazel and wife Billie of Fruitvale; son, Jonathan Smith and wife Amanda of Fruitvale; two daughters, Laura Joslin of Fruitvale and Michelle Cobb of Fairfield; brother, Dean Laughery and wife Glenda of Poetry; three sisters, Lois Taylor and husband Bob of Nevada, twin sister Joyce Jones of Rockwall, and Jo Ellen Jamshidi and husband Massoud of Rockwall; sister-in-law, Judy Woodrum and husband Jimmy of Fruitvale; four grandchildren, Garret Joslin, J.C. Smith, Taylor, and Tori; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Travis Jones, Ashley Jones, Cody Miller, Cade Miller, John Oliver, and Larry Gothard.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends 2 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
