Stuart Andrew Heddins, 46, of Golden, passed into the presence of the Lord about 6:00 AM, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Heddins home near Fruitvale, Texas following a lengthy illness. Stuart was a son of Charles and Barbara (Daigle) Heddins, born on Sept. 16, 1968 in Rosario, Argentina and grew up in Sulphur, Louisiana. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1987 and married Crystal Trammell on July 11, 1987 at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Sulphur, the church Stuart and his family attended. He enlisted in the Army that year and served three years, stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana and deploying to Panama for a short time.
Stuart & Crystal’s first son, Ryan, was born in 1989 and in 1991 they moved to Grand Saline, Texas where Stuart began working at Morton Salt Company. Shortly after moving to Golden in 1992, their second son, Ethan, was born. Stuart and his family attended Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline and later Community Christian Fellowship in Garden Valley.
Stuart enjoyed drag races, racing his 1969 Camaro which he owned since he was a teenager, and he loved hunting and target shooting. Stuart also loved body building and working out with his friends.
Stuart Heddins was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Heddins. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Heddins of Lindale, sons, Ryan Heddins of Dallas, & Ethan Heddins of Golden, mother, Barbara Heddins of Fruitvale, brothers, Roland Heddins of Garden Valley, David Heddins & wife Kathy of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Jonathan Heddins of Dallas, nephew, Caleb Heddins & wife Christy of Guam, niece, DeAnn Heddins of Sulphur, Louisiana. Stuart also had four great-nephews.
Pall bearers will be Caleb Heddins, Chad Swain, Terry Medina, John Simonek, Cody Swain, Paul Moreno, Tim Rodgers and Rick Burgos.
Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2015, 2:00 PM at Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline. Family visitation will be at 1:00 PM before the funeral, also at the church. Weather permitting, a graveside service will take place afterwards in Creagleville Cemetery.
