Truman Heddins
Services for Mr. Truman Heddins, 78 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Parkerson officiating.
Burial will be in Haven of Memories, Canton, TX.
Mr. Heddins passed away December 1, 2013 in Canton. He was born November 3, 1935 in Edgewood to Jessie Paschal & Inez Dean Heddins. He spent most all of his life in Van Zandt County. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and their Rejoicers Sunday School Class. Truman was an entrepreneur and a very giving man. He owned Truman Heddins Chevrolet/Buick in Grand Saline, a ColorTyme franchise, Fisher Heddins Buick/Pontiac/GMC in Mineola, many used car lots, was a subdivision developer and builder, and had cattle. He also was involved in many church organizations and served on numerous boards throughout Grand Saline. He served on the Cozby-Germany Hospital Board as a member and as a President, the Housing Authority, Lions Club, Youth Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, Masonic Lodge, and School Board. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane Heddins; and sister, Virginia Trussell.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Jolynn Heddins of Lewisville; two daughters, Debra Kirby and husband Dan Studdard of Dallas and Rhonda & Terry Chambers of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wiley Garland, Ken Moody, Ronnie Fisher, Robert Bates, Fernando Maciel and John T. Rash.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
