A.L. “Landie” Henry

Services for A.L. “Landie” Henry, 92 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at Corinth Baptist Church with Bro. Bert Fite officiating.
Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Henry passed away January 14, 2013 in Dallas. He was born January 30, 1920 in Oklahoma to James Monroe & Ina Mae Crytes Henry. Landie retired from Dallas Fire Department in 1973 after over 30 years of service. After retiring, he worked many years for Eubank Funeral Home in Canton and Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline. He was a Deacon and Choir Director at Corinth Baptist Church for many years. Landie was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mildred Nell Woods Henry; daughter, Rebecca Hunter; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Henry of Grand Saline; 3 grandchildren, Earl Dean Marett and wife Pam of Mesquite, Billy Hunter of Dallas, Robert Hunter and wife Barbara of Greenville; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 on the way; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Scott Bartley, James Davis, Gerald Denton, Bobby Anderson, Jimmy Wayne Henry and Bryan Marshall.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Gideon’s International.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
