Clyde Hill
Our precious Daddy, Clyde James Hill Sr., went to be with our Savior on August 9, 2012. We know without a doubt he is singing on the hills of glory! He was the baby of 6 children born to James Louis and Evie Hill in Dallas, TX on December 28, 1934. He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 58 ½ precious years, Pat Hill of Fruitvale; 5 children and children-in-law (in birth order), Shannon and Jerry Hance of Grand Saline, Clyde Jr. and Kay Hill Magnolia, Pam and Jim Harvath of Grand Saline, Stacy and Randy Taylor of Alba, and Kelly and Deitra Hill of Midlothian; and several children he adopted in the faith as well as with 14 grandchildren, their spouses, 22 great-grandchildren that are all missing him so very much. He is also survived by his nephew, Leroy Merimon, niece Bertha, special friend “Stu” and family, as well as many precious and dear family members and friends.
In his final days, he was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Fruitvale, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Barney Hill; 3 sisters, Agnes O’Bryant, Ada Merimon and Arvie McKinzie.
Clyde was 77 years old when he received his going home wings and met the Lord face to face. He dearly loved his wife and family and was always ready with a cup of coffee and to listen to all who needed a friend to hear and share. He loved listening to momma read the Bible and was always ready to pray with all who needed it. We will all miss those sweet prayers and loving hands. He retired from Yellow Freight in Dallas in 1987, was a member of the Teamsters Union and New Horizon Assembly of God Church.
Services for Mr. Clyde James Hill, 77 of Fruitvale, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday at New Horizon Assembly of God Church with Bro. Jim Atkins and Bro. Jerry Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Hill, Clinton Hance, Justin Harvath, Bradley Hance, Aaron Hance and Steve Merimon.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
