Services for Audrey Jean “Jeannie” Abar Howell, 91, of Lindale, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.
Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest #2 Cemetery, Golden.
Mrs. Howell passed away March 29, 2025, in Tyler. She was born June 7, 1933, in Oakland, California, to Frank Ellsworth and Lucille Crum Abar. On August 25, 1960, she married Carlos Eugene Howell in Brownfield. Together, they moved from Golden to Lindale in 2016. Jeannie was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola. She was all about family and enjoyed sewing clothes and various items for them. She was also a phenomenal cook. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, “Jack” Lloyd Ray Baker and Danny Abar; and sister, Maxine Baker.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Carlos Howell of Lindale; two sons, David Howell and wife Teresa of Aubrey and Ronnie Howell and wife Richelle of Lindale; three daughters, Kathleen Slemmons and husband Dan of Ft. Worth, Deborah McCommas and husband Ronnie of Marble Falls, and Carla Jean Fortenberry and husband Chris of Everman; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Long, Philip Howell, Harrison Howell, Troy McFarland, Kevin Simmons, and Phil Jones.
The family will receive friends, 1 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
