Services for Violet D. Jackson, 85 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating.
Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson passed away February 19, 2012 in Grand Saline. She was born June 22, 1926 in Bug Island, Indiana to Frank & Mae Celeste Atkins Harger. She spent most of her life in Grand Saline where she attended Roundflat Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George W. Jackson; two brothers, Frank Harger and Leroy Harger; and sister, Dorothy Wheeler.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Charlie & Becky Jackson of Tyler; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delece C. & Charles Hedrick of Frankston, Patricia & Anthony Blair of Grand Saline; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William Harger of Caddo, OK, James Martin & Cheryl Harger of Indiana, Johnny & JoAnn Harger of Fruitvale; three sisters, Helen Weber of Oklahoma, Goldie Curry of Kingston, OK and Vickie Kidwell of Washington, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Harger, Charles Harger, Josh Ayers, Desman Wells, Jr., and Anthony Wells.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
