Services for James Dennis Brown, 74, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2026, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Pastor Edward Crouch officiating.

Interment will follow in Tranquil Cemetery, Winfield, TX.

James Dennis Brown passed away August 7, 2026, unexpectedly, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a love that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was born June 28, 1952, in La Porte, TX, to the late James Dalton and Ruth Haley Brown.

Dennis was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Doreen Brown, and a man who loved his family more than anything in this world. His family was his greatest pride and joy. He treasured the time spent with them, the memories they made together, and the simple moments that meant so much.

Dennis was a hardworking mechanic who spent many years working with his hands and helping others. He was a man who knew how to fix things, but more importantly, he was someone his family could always count on.

When Dennis wasn’t working, you could often find him doing something he loved. He enjoyed watching sprint car racing, riding motorcycles, and especially loved Harley-Davidson. There was something special about seeing Dennis out riding, doing what he loved and enjoying the freedom of the open road.

But beyond the mechanic, the motorcycle rider, and the racing fan was a man who simply loved his family. His greatest joy was being a husband, father, and grandfather. The love he had for his family was evident in the way he cared for them, supported them, and made memories with them.

Dennis’ passing was unexpected, and his absence will be felt in ways that words cannot fully express. There will be an empty place at family gatherings, memories that bring both smiles and tears, and countless moments when his loved ones will wish they could hear his voice, see his smile, or simply have one more day with him.

Though his time with us was not long enough, the love Dennis gave and the memories he created will never be taken away. His family will carry him with them—in their hearts, in their stories, and in all the little things that remind them of him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruth Brown.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Brown of Alba; sons, Jimmy Brown and wife Kelly of Little Elm and Chris Brown and wife Patti of Forney; stepdaughters, Rebecca Clem and husband Coltyn of Alba and Nichole Wellman and husband Chad of Royse City; stepsons, Jeremy Bowen and wife Erin of Royse City and James Bowen and wife Patty of Caddo Mills; brother, Kenneth Brown and wife Beth of Norman, OK; sister, Linda Cox and husband Bobby of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Jason, Logan, Jacob, Cameron, Aubrey, Maddox, Delenn; five great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly and whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.

Dennis was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed. His life may have ended unexpectedly, but the love he gave his family will continue for generations to come.

Until we meet again, Dad, Papa, and husband. Keep riding that Harley down the open road. You will forever be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Jason Espinoza, Logan Brown, Jacob Brown, Coltyn Clem, Jimmy Brown, Chris Brown, Jeremy Bowen, and Caleb Huckaba.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
