James Edward Hollis

Services for James Edward Hollis, 88, of Mineola, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola, with Bro. Brandon Gray and Bro. Jim Parker officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Mr. Hollis passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Mineola. He was born July 18, 1937, in Grand Saline to Roy Clifton and Rose Edna Dodson Hollis. On April 21, 1959, he married the love of his life, Ruby Lee Compton in Durant, Oklahoma. James moved to the Mineola area in December 1964 and was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. He proudly served in the US Army. James was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ruby Hollis of Mineola; son, James Todd Hollis and wife Connie of Mineola; daughter, LeAnn Crawford and husband Tommy of Mineola; four grandsons; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends, 10 a.m., Saturday, at the church.
