Shirley Jones

Services for Shirley Anne Jones, 85, of Whitehouse, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.

Mrs. Jones passed away September 30, 2020, in Whitehouse. She was born October 14, 1934, in Dallas to J.D. and Hattie Opal Long Flowers. Shirley lived in Wood County for twenty-one years before moving to Smith County five years ago. Shirley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troup. Active in a Wood Co. church, she taught Sunday School, and she also volunteered in the community Meals on Wheels, delivering meals. She enjoyed crocheting, plastic canvas cross-stitching, and working jig-saw puzzles. She had an affinity for butterflies and hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her parents; previous husbands; two sisters; two brothers-in-law; one son in law; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra Marshall and husband Marvin of Alba and Kimbra Warren and husband Tommy Fite of Whitehouse; sister, Melba Sanders and husband Larry of Waxahachie; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; foreign exchange student she considered family, Yasemin Koss and husband Bob of O'fallon, IL; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ben Marshall, Samuel Marshall, James Warren, Thomas Warren, Marvin Marshall, and Tommy Fite.
