Josie Cheyenne Bohannan, 29, of Alba, Texas, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, in Alba, Texas.
Josie was a lifelong resident of Alba and a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a woman who loved deeply, lived life in her own way, and never turned down a chance to have a good time.
Above all else, Josie was a mother. Her greatest loves were her two children, Amari, 9, and Waylon, 1, both of Alba. They were the center of her world, and being their mom was one of the most important parts of who she was.
Josie shared a special and unbreakable bond with her Poppa, who was her number one person. Their relationship was one of the most meaningful in her life, and the love they shared will remain a treasured part of the memories she leaves behind.
Josie loved her family fiercely. She especially adored her nieces and nephews and cherished the time she spent with them. She was a sister who could make you laugh, a mother who loved her babies with everything she had, and a friend who knew how to make memories.
Those who knew Josie will remember her for her big heart, her love of having a good time, her strong personality, and most of all, the love she had for her family.
Josie leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, family, and all those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Though her time here was far too short, the memories she created and the love she gave will live on through the people she leaves behind.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Vince Bohannan and Amy Weems; and grandmother, Janiece “Big Mama” Bohannan.
Survivors include her son, Waylon Earle of Alba; daughter, Amari Bohannan of Alba; two brothers, Dustin Bohannan and wife Casey of Alba and Jaydyn Bohannan of Emory; sister, Jessica Hollingshead and husband Cainan of Emory; grandparents, Danny Bohannan of Alba and Mary Clanton and husband Lynn of Quitman; and numerous other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Services for Josie are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of the church and family.
