Mrs. Judy Gwaltney, 80, of Alba, passed away July 25, 2025, in Tyler. She was born December 15, 1944, in Shreveport, LA, to Louis Lee and Blanche Haywood Diamond.
Judy lived in Wood County for 22 years and was a devoted member of Lake Fork Baptist Church. On June 1, 2008, she married Konrad Gwaltney, Sr., in Alba. A dedicated special education teacher, Judy touched many lives with her compassion and commitment to her students.
She had a true passion for gardening and took great joy in planting and growing flowers, creating a beautiful and welcoming yard. Judy's contagious laugh and warm, welcoming smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel accepted and valued—seeing everyone as a friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Robert “Bob” Jones.
Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Konrad Gwaltney of Alba; son, Don Jones and wife Rhonda of New Mexico; Daughter Leecia Jones of Dallas; sister, Anne St. Vigne and husband Jimmy of Conroe; stepson, Lowell; Stepdaughters, Konnie and Cheryl; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Memorials can be made to your favorite charity.
The family will possibly have a memorial service at a later date.
