Services for Mr. James Kemp, 83, of Terrell, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Keith Camp officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery, Grand Saline.
Mr. Kemp passed away May 4, 2025, at his home. He was born March 16, 1942, in Dallas, to J.C. & Emmie Turner Kemp. He spent his early years in Garland where he graduated from Garland High School Class of 1960. He lived many years in Irving before moving to Terrell 35 years ago. He was a member of Teel Church of Christ in Canton. He owned/operated a tornado shelter business. James was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, J.C. Kemp, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of almost 37 years, Sally Jensen Kemp, of Terrell; two daughters, Jamie Stone and husband Bruce of Grand Prairie, and Connie Quinn and husband Matthew Quinn III of Mountain Grove, MO; brother, Phillip Kemp of Goldthwaite; five grandchildren, Brian Stone, Jerrod Stone, Amanda Villareal, Daniel Tucker, Laura Shirley; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Tucker, D.J. Shirley, Matt Quinn, Brian Stone, Jerrod Stone, and Bruce Stone.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
