ALBA – Services for Robert Max “Bob” Klein, 83, of Alba, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Kelly Burton and Bro. Tony Roling officiating.
Burial will be in Colony Cemetery, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Klein passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in the Veteran’s Home in Bonham.
He was born April 23, 1930, in Shadyside, Ohio, to the late Joseph Sebastian and Mary Reitberger Klein. He served in the Army in Germany during the Korean War. He married Frankie Lou McAree on August 7, 1957. He was a rancher and cattleman. They had been married 50 years at her death on June 12, 2008. He had lived in Rains County for 42 years. He was a member and a deacon of First Baptist Church, Alba.
Survivors include nieces and spouses, Karen and Peter Reittinger of Katy, and Kathy and Joe Freeze of Forney, Rita and Irv Lippz of Bethesda, Maryland, and Mary Ann Gore of Alba; nephew, David Glaze of Alba; great nieces, Taryn, Nicole, Kate, and Anaye; and great nephews, Josh, Nathan, and Tony; numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, George Jones III; and brother, Joseph Klein.
Pallbearers are Joe Freeze, Josh Freeze, Kent Garrett, Randall Piatkowski, Dwayne McCormack, and Damon Wallace.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 219 E. Holley St., Alba, 75410.
