Zella Knull
Services for Zella Knull, 88 of Mineola, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Larpenter officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mrs. Knull passed away October 3, 2012 in a Mineola nursing home. She was born September 2, 1924 in York, Nebraska to Zenas & Vivian Neal Cross. Zella graduated from Newport High School in Nebraska and completed courses at Miltonvale Weslyan College, Southern Nazarene University and North Texas University. She was a teacher in a one-room rural school in Nebraska during the WWII years, and later served as a teacher’s aide in a program for migrant children, and in Headstart. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and had lived in Tyler before moving to Mineola in 1973. She was preceded in death by her parents; foster-parents, Harley & Mabel Anderson; daughter, Nola Beth Rucker; granddaughter, April Ann Lowrance; five sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Thurman D. “Jack” Knull of Mineola; son, Harley Knull and wife Kay of Cibolo; daughter, Lori Hammers and husband John of Victoria; brother, Jim Le Colli of The Woodlands; sister, Beth Lenz of Yucaipa, California; foster-brother, Kenneth Anderson of Grants Pass, Oregon; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at Bartley Funeral Home.
