YANTIS – Services for Randy Kuykendall, 80, of Yantis, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Lake Fork Baptist Church, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. David Smith and Bro. Danny Meek officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Kuykendall passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, in a Tyler hospice facility.
He was born December 14, 1935, in Paris, to the late Bill and Edith Randolph Kuykendall. He grew up in Idabel, Oklahoma, but spent most of his life in Mesquite. He served in the Army, and was a supervisor for AT&T for 35 years. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge in Mesquite and Quitman, Scottish Rite in Dallas, and Hella Temple Shriners in Garland. He married Sonja Lea Matthews on August 20, 1986, in Rockwall. He moved to Wood County in 1995. He served as treasurer of Lake Fork Baptist Church for 18 years, where he was a member. He enjoyed his ham radio experiences.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sonja Kuykendall of Yantis; son, Craig Kuykendall of Dallas; step-daughter, Janeen Doolin of Emory; step-son Lee Doolin of Emory; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and David Whitton of Carrolton; granddaughter, Cayla Hall of Sulphur Springs; and grandsons, Nate Doolin and Garrett Doolin both of Emory, and Austin Whitton and Jake Whitton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith Kuykendall; brother, R.D. Kuykendall; sisters, Joan Ray and Lou Moore.
Pallbearers are Roger Creason, Clyde Rilea, Rick Nichols, Charles Patrick, Bill Stewart, and Earl Eddleston.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Mens Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8 at the funeral home.
