Services for Mr. Clarence Ray Lacy, 86 of Grand Saline, formerly of Whitehouse, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Bartley Funeral Home with Dr. David Christine officiating.
Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Lacy passed away May 4, 2013 in a Grand Saline nursing home. He was born April 24, 1927 in Pine Hill to Clarence Briton & Letha Pearl Jones Lacy. He lived most of his life in Houston, Dallas, Hawkins and Georgia before moving to Whitehouse in 2006. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hawkins and had retired as a truck driver from Central Freight Lines after 35 years of service. Mr. Lacy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Lacy; two sisters, Annie Marie Jones and Geneva Mae Lacy; and granddaughter, Cristi Carroll.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Ruth Veach and husband Earnest of Grand Saline, and Mary Kay MacKay and husband Gary of Morganton, GA; two brothers, Victor A. Lacy and wife Melba of Duncanville and Melvin Wayne Lacy of Houston; six grandchildren, Tony Veach, Sean Veach and wife Laurie, Chris Veach and wife Ashley, Troy Burges, John MacKay and Hollie Bishop; nine great-grandchildren, Joshua Veach and wife Brittany, Rebecca Veach, Seanna Veach, Anna Veach, Robert Veach, Brayden Veach, Mandy Carroll, Phillip MacKay and Patrick MacKay; three great-great-grandchildren, Julian Coonrod, Gaige Veach and Aiden Jack Coonrod; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Van Zandt County Children’s Advocacy Center 547 Buffalo St. Canton, TX 75103.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at the funeral home.
