Funeral services for Emmett Leon “Buddy” Lambert, 60, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline with Sis Delana Wheeler officiating.

Burial will be in Small Cemetery in Edgewood.

Buddy passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his home in Grand Saline. He was born December 19, 1962, in Lufkin to Joe Edd and Ruthie Lane Madden Lambert. Buddy worked throughout his life as a carpenter and became an ordained minister in 2003. He had a servant’s heart and enjoyed helping people in many ways including building houses, repairing old homes, and fixing cars. Buddy was truly one in a million. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Edd Lambert; and niece, Rusti Foster.

Buddy is survived by his mother, Ruthie Chote and Uncle Jerry Lambert of Grand Saline; son, Justin Lambert and Michelle of San Antonio; daughters, Ashley Koonce of Grand Saline and Shirley Thompson of Florida; five sisters, Quida Jones of Grand Saline, Joy Flannery of Grand Saline, Rhonda Becerra of Grand Saline, Deidre Smith of Wells, and Judy Carnes of Lufkin; fourteen grandchildren, best friend, Clyde Earl and wife Laurie of Wills Point; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clyde Earl, Jerry Don Watson, Doug Coleman, Boston Dolante, Randy Carter, Jason Jacobs, Danny Hall, Jessie Brister, Justin Lambert, and Jacob Redd.

Honorary pallbearer will be Mickey Henson.

The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the funeral home.
