William "Buddy" Laprade

Services for Mr. William “Buddy” LaPrade, 68, Mineola, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Sullivan officiating.
Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. LaPrade passed away May 4, 2014 at his home in Mineola. He was born May 14, 1945 in Van Zandt County to S.A. & Nina Estella Daniel LaPrade. He spent his early years in Grand Saline, 12 years in Dallas and the last 35 years in the Providence Community. He was a member of Silver Lake Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a Master Mason and a member of the Grand Saline Masonic Lodge 1269. Mr. LaPrade retired from Morton Salt Co. and had also worked for Borden Milk. He was preceded in death by his father, S.A. LaPrade.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Carolyn LaPrade of Mineola; mother, Estella LaPrade of Grand Saline; two daughters, Melanie & David New of Rowlett and Melissa LaPrade of Mesquite; step-son, Keith Lowe of Tyler; step-daughter, Karen & Wade Allen of Lindale; sister, Shirley Bryant of Grand Saline; seven grandchildren, Leighton New, Amber Holleman, Amanda Allen, Emily Smyrl, Courtnee Brokaw, Sam Lowe and George Crenshaw; two great-grandchildren, Weston and Langston; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wylie Cody, Felix Vasquez, Herman Garcia, Tom Jones, Terry Blackmon, Will Medina, Larry Whitaker and Roger Bryant.
Memorials may be made to Silver Lake Baptist Church, Alzheimer’s Research or the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
