William Lee

William Eugene “Gene” Lee, 89, of Blue Mound, passed away April 25, 2020.
Mr. Lee was born December 4, 1930 in Brownwood to Nathan and Edna Welch Lee. Gene spent his early years in the Sand Flat community near Grand Saline, 14 years in Shelbyville, 26 years in Ft. Worth, and the last 21 years in Fruitvale. He served in the US Army out of high school and then enlisted in the US Navy in 1950. On June 3, 1950, he married Virginia Adell Parker in Canton. Gene is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Judy Rippard; one great-grandson, Jimmy Greer; three brothers, John Lee, Jim Lee, and Frank Lee; and three sisters, Lena Causey, Dalph Lennon, and Evie Johnston.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Virginia Parker Lee of Blue Mound; two daughters, Darlene Copeland and husband Jimmy of Blue Mound and Brenda Long and husband Bryan of Grandview; one sister, Dinah Goodson of Springtown; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Interment will be in Sand Flat Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Copeland, Charles Lee, Mike Rippard, Butch Lee, and Wayne Bell.
