Services for Dorothy Louise “Nanny” Lemons, 86, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014, at New Hope Baptist Church of Lone Oak, under direction of Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home, with Bro. Chris Florance officiating.
Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Mrs. Lemons passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, in a Greenville hospital.
She was born March 18, 1928, in Dallas, to the late John Wesley and Minnie Matthews McGlashon. She married Lester Lemons May 11, 1946, in Rockwall. She lived in Dallas prior to moving to Lone Oak in 1964. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church, Lone Oak.
Survivors include her sons, James “Bo” Lemons and David Lemons and his wife Anette all of Lone Oak; daughter, Linda Brookins of Lone Oak; daughter-in- law, Helen Lemons of Quinlan; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester Lemons; son, Ronald Dean “Red” Lemons; two brothers; two sisters; and granddaughter, Leslie Lemons.
Pallbearers include Steve Land, Phillip Land, Scott Land, David Johnson, Rick Silva, and Jeff Lemons.
Visitation will be Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
