Mary Lewers

Services for Mary Irene “Gran” Campbell Lewers, 89, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Interment will follow in Colony Cemetery, Alba.

Mrs. Lewers passed away April 7, 2023, at her residence in Alba. She was born January 31, 1934, in Lindale, to Samuel Everett and Annie Irene Conway Campbell. Irene lived most of her life in Alba and was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church. On March 17, 1951, she married Louis Alvoy Lewers, in Alba. She enjoyed sewing, playing golf, working puzzles and playing games. Irene loved her family very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 41 years, Louis “Stack” Lewers; son, Edward “Little Stack” Lewers; daughter, Martha Henley; brothers, Otha Campbell, Junior Campbell, Joe Campbell, and Leroy Campbell; great-grandson, Louie Lewers; and son-in-law, Ben Smith.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Ross and husband Phillip of Sulphur Springs and Debora Smith of Alba; brother, Andreil Eads of Garland; sisters, Sandra Liles, DaRue Wilson and husband Ray, and Patricia Watson and husband Danny all of Emory; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Toby Liles, Tommy Campbell, Mark Campbell, Jonathan Watson, Kent Hayes, Tony Hill, Roger Gaby, and Preston Lusk.

The family will receive friends 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the church.
