Services for Malinda Jane Crow Looney, 87, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Lindsey Ray and Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mrs. Looney passed away September 14, 2024, in Grand Saline. She was born May 19, 1937, in Quinlan, to Willie & Bertha Frances Dool Crow. Malinda had lived in Grand Saline, since 1960, where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Saline. She retired from Titus Manufacturing/ASC, Terrell, in 1998, after 27 years of service. Malinda served as President of several organizations over the years including District 30 VFW Ladies Auxiliary from 2004-2005, Friends of the Library for 7 years, and Omega Phi Sorority for one year. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. In her retirement and free time, she loved to crochet and play Pokeno. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James “Jim” Henry Crow; sister-in-law, Christine Crow; and 2 brothers-in-law, Randolph Gheen, and John Darden.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Abner “Sam” Looney of Grand Saline; two sons, Donald Waits and wife Colleen of Comfort, and Danny Waits of Grand Saline; two daughters, Daina Ashton of Grand Saline, and Dawn Erwin and husband Steven of Grand Saline; stepson, Samuel Looney and wife Dawn of Sulphur Springs; two stepdaughters, Thelma Chesshire of Detroit, and LaQuita Jones and husband Jimmy of Henderson; three brothers, Bill Crow of San Angelo, Walter Crow and wife Cathy of Forney, and Paul Crow of Mesquite; three sisters, Floy Darden of Forney, Gayla Cuter and husband Rob of Houston, and Sue Gheen of Rockwall; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Donny Waits Jr., Daniel Waits, Taylor Waits, Douglas Waits, Michael Kelly, Alex Erwin, and Adam Erwin.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday.
