Mass of Christian Burial for Jesus Lopez, 67, of Grand Saline, is scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Grand Saline with Father Victor Hernandez officiating.
Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Lopez passed away June 14, 2016, in Grand Saline. He was born November 7, 1948 in Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Asuncion & Dolores Rios Lopez. Jesus came to the U.S. in 1984 and moved to Grand Saline in 1985. He was a hardworking man, a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church and became a US citizen in 2015.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Maria Carmen Lopez of Grand Saline; six children, Jesus Lopez Jr., Geraldo Lopez, Carmen Lopez, Maria Juana Lopez, Miriam Lopez and Jose Asuncion Lopez, all of Grand Saline; five brothers and one sister, Pueblo Rios, Manuel Rios, Victoriano Rios, Venedo Rios, Raul Rios and Luisa Rios; 23 grandchildren, Jesse, Omar, Bianca, Gabby, Mauro, Christopher, Brandon, Ashton, Carmelita, Alexis, Michelle, Christian, Brayan, Katie, Leslie, Emily, Lupita, Lucy, Ceci, Abby, Jonathan, Steven and Jose; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Lopez Jr., Geraldo Lopez, Jose Lopez, Jesse Lopez, Alexis Aguilar, Apolonio Moreno, Lorenzo Sanches and Jaime Cortes.
Visitation and Rosary ceremony will be held Friday, June 17, 2016, 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
