Adene Lowe

Services for Adene Lowe, 91 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Sand Flat Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Ms. Lowe passed away March 3, 2013 in Grand Saline. She was born November 25, 1921in Grand Saline to James Manuel & Dovie Melissi Maxfield Burgess. She spent most of her life in Grand Saline where she was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and Grand Saline VFW Post #6635 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also an avid gardener, coached softball, was active in the PTA, instructed tennis and swimming, and a secretary for Dr. George Marsh. She was the town seamstress and made cheerleader and majorette uniforms. She was give the Woman of the Year Award in Grand Saline also. Ms. Lowe was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; sister; daughter, Karan Lowe; grandson, Todd; and great-grandson, Callan.
Survivors include her son, James "Jay" Lowe of Tyler; daughter, Marsha Thibodeaux of Columbia, TN; sister, Glynda Ashe of Caddo Mills; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and son-in-law, Grady Thibodeaux of Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Willmon, Micah Lowe, Bryan Lowe, Trent Thibodeaux, Austin Allen, Stephen Bourque and Cade Gray.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
