John “Little John” Haywood Lumpkins, Jr.
EMORY – Memorial services for John “Little John” Haywood Lumpkins, Jr., 63, of Emory, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Miracle Faith Baptist Church, Emory, under the direction of the family.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
John passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his residence in Emory.
He was born May 18, 1954, in Slayton, to John Haywood Sr. and LaRue Martin Lumpkins. He married Joan Alison Martin on January 14, 2007, in Emory. He was raised in Rains County and was a member of Miracle Faith Baptist Church. John raised and sold plants and produce, owned and operated Little John’s Plant’s and Produce, and owned J&J Firewood.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Lumpkins of Emory; step-son, Alex Thomas, Sr. of Channelview; sisters, Annette and husband Gary Caves of Emory and Martha and husband Bennie Williams of Alba; grandchildren, Dylan Haynes, Alexander Thomas, Jr., and Cailyn Thomas; nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Henry Lumpkins.
