Services for Cynthia Kay "Cindy" Maciel, 60 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. Tom Pesnell and Bro. Ronald Cantrell officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Cindy passed away March 1, 2013 in Grand Saline. She was born December 6, 1952 in Grand Saline to Fernando & Betty Porter Maciel. She spent her early years in Grand Saline; many years in Clear Lake and the last 12 years back in Grand Saline. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church; a 1975 Texas A&M Graduate; taught High School English in Baytown and Fruitvale and was also a chemist for DuPont. She was also an ISO Auditor for Underwriters Laboratory. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Porter Maciel.
Survivors include her father, Fernando "Ferd" Maciel of Grand Saline; brother and sister-in-law, Mike & Becky Maciel of Aledo; sister, Melissa Blumer of Grand Saline; two nieces, Erin & Bethany; four nephews, Tim, Brian, Michael and Jonathan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Gilbert, Galloway Darby, David Martin, Greg Crume, Tim Blumer and Brian Blumer.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
