Jean Marino

January 19, 1947 — December 7, 2022

In the blink of an eye, unrelenting pain was transformed to eternal joy as she entered her heavenly home. Jean Marie Levisay Marino lost her battle with bone cancer in the early morning hours of December 7, 2022.

She was born January 19, 1947 to Laurine Marie Schwarz and Gilbert Maxwell Levisay in Dallas, Texas, where she continued to live for most of her life. She graduated from W W Samuell High School in 1965 and worked for Bowne of Dallas for many years. In 1998, she and spouse Ron Marino moved to Grand Saline and lived their final years in the country. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton where she sang in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Levisay, niece Brittany Thrash, and spouse Ron Marino. Left to grieve her passing are her son, Eric Justin Clay and his spouse Hilma Massey; her sisters Carolyn Patrick and spouse Larry, Diane Grafflin, Janet Levisay, and Susan McCullough and spouse Michael; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Special thanks to her life-long friend Connie Pirtle for her attentive loving care in Jean’s final days, and to Hospice of East Texas and their in-patient facility Homeplace in Tyler.

Her final arrangements have been entrusted to Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of East Texas, the SPCA or the charity of your choice.
