Laverne Gore Martin
Services for Laverne Gore Martin, 81 of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012 at New Journey Church of God with Pastor Chuck Hinton, Pastor Jason Fischer and Pastor Samuel Priddy officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martin passed away December 27, 2012 in Athens. She was born May 9, 1931 in Fruitvale to Thomas & Nettie Monk Crim. She spent most all of her life in Van Zandt County where she was a charter member of New Journey Church of God in Edgewood. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Albert Gore and Cordell Martin; brother, Paul Crim; four sisters, Martha Parker, Lora Faye Hubnik, Jackie Grier and an infant sister.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy & Gary Fischer of Edgewood and Linda “Katy” & Billy Hall of Bullard; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond & Stell Crim of Edgewood; three sisters, Pauline Turner of Mineola, Ruby Parker of Edgewood and Nell Jackson of Edgewood; 4 grandchildren, Raychelle and Aric Hall, Jason and Adam Fischer; and 5 great-grandchildren, Trenton, Jolie, Brilynn, Aiden and Peyton Fischer; two stepsons, Deryle Martin of Pagosa Springs, CO and Lanny Martin of Edgewood; five step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Art Hall, Shane Yates, Glen Rasco, Mark Jones, James Claire and Sammy Jones.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
