EMORY – Memorial services for Don Theo Matthews, 69, of Emory, will be held at a later date by the family. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Matthews passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Friday, April 25, 1947, in Ashland, Wisconsin, to USMC Col. Merlin Theo and Minnie H. Wood Matthews. He was a Service Manager in the Construction Industry. During Don’s career in concrete/material placement for Putzmeister, Rotec, O’Brien, and Pumpco, he became a respected international expert, received several awards, and holds patents for related equipment.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Matthews of Emory; two sons, Don T. Matthews and William H. Matthews; daughter, Melissa-Angell Bailey; nephew, Matt T. Matthews; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and dogs, Anna and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dean Matthews and Jill Matthews, RN.
